Standup Smith
Coming soon

Your standup is 20 minutes. The useful part is 90 seconds.

Standup Smith asks three questions in Slack or Teams at each person's local time, posts one digest, and on Business follows every blocker until the owner marks it done.

100 of 100 founding spots left

A Zoom standup for 12 engineers is not a meeting. It is 12 people waiting for their turn to say what they already wrote in a ticket. Add two time zones and you get a call that starts too early for one city and too late for another.

Standup Smith keeps the 90 seconds that were useful and throws out the rest. Each person gets a DM at their local hour. Three questions. Answers land in one channel thread. You read the digest, not a gallery of faces on mute.

What you get on day one

The bot DMs every member with three questions you choose. The default set is yesterday, today, and what is blocked. You can swap those for any three questions, including a yes or no on deploy risk.

Answers post to one channel as a single thread. The manager does not have to open every reply.

On Team and up, an AI digest sits on top of that thread. It lists blockers, names who is waiting on whom, and flags a risk if two people describe the same stuck deploy.

Blockers that survive past lunch

On Business and Scale, a blocker is not a sentence that dies in the thread. The bot DMs the owner the next working day: still blocked? If they mark it resolved, the loop stops. If they do not, it asks again the next working day.

You set skip days for leave. Public-holiday calendars cover the US, the UK, the UAE, and KSA, with the weekend set per member: Saturday and Sunday, or Friday and Saturday for KSA.

The weekly email to the manager shows participation as a percent: answers received divided by members who were not on skip. If 16 of 20 people answered, the line is 80 percent.

Plans with numbers

Free covers 5 people. Team is 19 a month for 20. Business is 49 a month for 75, with Teams and blocker follow-up. Scale is 99 a month for 200. Pricing lists every limit.

Geekbot bills 3 per standup participant per month on monthly Basic (2.50 billed annually). Twenty people is 60 a month. DailyBot Essentials is 3 per active user per month, and it bills every member marked active. Standup Smith Team is 19 a month for up to 20 members.

We do not run polls, surveys, or a coding-agent CLI. If you need those, keep Geekbot or DailyBot.

FAQ

When does it launch?

No public date yet. Founding members get the invite first, by email, before anyone else.

Does the free plan include the AI digest?

No. Free is Slack DMs, three questions, one threaded digest, and 30 days of history. The AI digest starts on Team.

Can I keep a live call for incidents?

Yes. Put the standup on skip for an incident week, or run a 15-minute call on the days the digest shows more than three open blockers. The bot is the default. The call is the exception.

Do you store the answers?

Yes, for the history on your plan: 30 days on Free, 365 days on Team and Business, 1,095 days on Scale. CSV export is Scale only, capped at 100,000 rows per month.
